Bill Kunkler founded Kunkler Business Services LLC in 2010 after recognizing the unmet need within many early stage businesses for experienced financial management. Our current client base is heavily weighted in the IT sector. But our experience includes financial management in a number of other service sectors, including real estate, life science, hospitality and healthcare.
About Bill Kunkler – Founder
Bill Kunkler is a Certified Public Accountant and a licensed real estate broker. He holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation and has extensive financial management experience in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Bill is a generalist, with a strong system and process orientation, and has extensive experience with investment feasibility analysis and enterprise risk management.
Bill played a significant role for over two decades in the growth and development of The Fiore Companies, one of Wisconsin’s leading real estate investment groups. His responsibilities included strategic planning, financing, business development and public relations. As Executive Vice-President, he completed over $280 million of financing with multiple commercial lenders, and coordinated their $80 million variable rate taxable bond issue. He also managed the efforts for many successful development projects for Fiore, including Knickerbocker Place, Network222 and Evensong Spa.
Prior to this he served as Controller for The Madsen Corporation, and worked for five years within the cooperative movement at North Farm Coop. Bill has served on the Board of Directors for Downtown Madison, Inc. (treasurer), Meriter Retirement Services, Inc. (chairman) and Accelerate Madison.
Bill Kunkler graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy. He also received the prestigious Elijah Watts Sells “Certificate with High Distinction” from the AICPA. This award recognized his outstanding performance on the Uniform CPA exam, attaining one of the top 50 scores in the nation (out of >50,000).
